  4.    The keys used to control the Music Transcription System have been
  5. carefully selected so that they are easy to learn and efficient to operate. 
  6. To accommodate different keyboard layouts, several alternative keys can be
  7. used as outlined below:

  9.    1)  The F10 and * keys can be used as substitutes for the Esc key
  10.    2)  The / key can be used as an alternative to the = key
  11.    3)  On most computers, the Shift Up and Shift Down keys can be used
  12.        to change note durations in the Enter Melody option of the Create menu
  13.  
  14.    On many keyboards, using the * key as an alternative for the Esc key and
  15. the / key as an alternative to the = key will allow you to operate most
  16. functions without moving your hand away from the right hand keypad.
